Important Information Regarding E-mail Hoaxes

Please be aware that an email signed by Ernst & Young c/o dormant accounts 787 Seventh Ave. New York, NY 10019 is being circulated. The email with the subject line "Holocaust Claims Forced Labor Compensation Programs" states the following: "...the Federal Republic of Germany passed a law establishing the foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future." The foundation is to distribute your payments from the foundation's capital of DM 10 billion to partner organizations that will distribute the funds to you among other qualified claimants." The email then states that the new law "considers claims by actual victims for the following: Labor performed while detained in a concentration camp or concentration camp-like facility during the Nazi era. (The heirs of those laborers who died after February 15, 1999 are also eligible to file.)" and that the new law "allows for claims by victims or their heirs for the following: Property loss or damage caused by German companies during the Nazi era, including claims against German banks and insurance companies." The email then requests claimants to urgently contact Dr Anthony Wilberforce, Contact Email:anthonywilberforce@financier.com, Tel: +34 634 039 245." The header of the email also references the "American Academy of Diplomacy," the "United States Holocaust Memorial Museum," the "United States Institute of Peace," the "Holocaust Claims Processing Office New York State Banking Department One State Street," and the "Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany."

Please be aware that The Law on the Creation of a Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" was passed on 2 August 2000 with the support of all parliamentary parties in the German Bundestag. The law provided for individual humanitarian payments to be made to former slave and forced laborers and other victims of National Socialism. The disbursement of these payments commenced in 2001 and was completed in 2007.

Please be aware that an email signed by "Mrs. Beesley Dunham, Executive Director, www.swissbankclaims.com" is being circulated. The email states "Due to our routine cleanup we came across these unattended consignments bearing your Surname, we have scanned and find the content to be containing the tune of ($8.5Million) [...] You are adviced to forward to this office your delivery address for immediate delivery of you consignments otherwise we would deposit the funds with our bank" [sic]. It then threatens financial and legal consequences if the recipient of the email fails to respond within 7 days.

Please be aware that the Court, the Special Masters and the CRT maintain claimant confidentiality and do not release any information about claimants to unauthorized parties. Neither the Court, the Special Masters nor the CRT have ever communicated with a "Mrs. Beesley Dunham" in connection with the Swiss Banks Holocaust Settlement and no one by that name has ever been affiliated with the settlement distribution. Furthermore, there is no entity known as "www.swissbankclaims.com"; it is solely the name of the website maintained on behalf of the Court for this settlement. To the extent that claimants to Swiss bank accounts have been or are determined to be eligible for payment from the Settlement Fund, notification of such awards has been made and will continue to be made through Court-approved processes: the CRT in Zurich or the Swiss Deposited Assets Program in New York.

An email is being circulated by one or more persons purporting to sign the name "Judah Gribetz, Special Master." The email advises the recipient that "your name and family name was on the list of 7,000 names of persons who had been nominated as the heirs to receive the holocaust victims' unclaimed deposit of USD: 15,000,000.00 made to Credit Suisse and Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) during the holocaust era by your relations." The email further states: "You are advised to contact the appointed bank (Bank Of China London) for immediate accreditation and payment. Your assigned payment officer is Dr. Morris Massey. Contact him now via email: ippu@e-bankofchina.com Tel:+448717206026."

Please be aware that an email is being circulated from a person named Mr. Harri Moore who describes himself as a member of the Swiss Banker's Association, a body which works closely with the Independent Committee of Eminent Persons (ICEP), Switzerland. ICEP is charged with the responsibility of finding bank accounts in Switzerland belonging to non-Swiss citizens.” The email states "To avoid traces i have already liquidate this account and deposit the funds in a deposit safe account in another country here in Europe. I will thereafter give you further documents to enable you receive the funds."

She seeks persons willing to open an account for the transfer of these funds.

Please be aware that an email is being circulated from a person named Dr. Raymond West who describes himself as the “Director of Claims” at the “Claim Resolution Tribunal, Claim Registration Department.” The email references a “Final Notification of Transfer” of a large amount of funds and requests that the addressee fly to London, England for the physical signing of a “Fund Release Order.”
